The Premier Cru of Albert Bichot's magnificent Les Perrieres Puligny-Montrachet really could be one of the finest whites of Burgundy.
The limestone-rich soils of Côte de Beaune impart an enormous depth-of-character to this wine. Dry, medium-heavy in body, and old gold in colour: this wine carries a complex bouquet and an even more complex palate. The real strength of this wine comes from its perfect balance. Creamy French vanilla bean characterises the initial tounge, which is followed shortly afterwards by rich, seasonal nutmeg and soft lemon curd. A truly magnificent example of a Puligny-Montrachet.
